Dr. Delores Hammer

An Asheville native, Dr. Hammer graduated from Enka High School in Enka, NC before attending Appalachian State University (ASU). After obtaining a degree in biology from ASU, she was admitted to the UNC-CH Dental School, from which she graduated in 1982. Dr. Hammer operated her first dental practice in Harrisburg, NC in 1983, and joined Affordable Dentures that same year. She left Harrisburg in 1984 and joined Affordable Dentures full time until 1988, and at that time, she opened a private practice in Hickory, NC.

She loves all aspects of dentistry including restorative, crown and bridge and root canals, and excels in dentures, partials and extractions. Dr. Hammer enjoys building a good relationship and rapport with her patients and is especially gratified when she makes them happy with their smiles.

After 34 years she sold her private practice in Hickory, NC in August 2016, and now enjoys filling in for dentists who are out of the office and want to keep their practices humming and their staff busy while they are away. When she fills in she does everything just the way the staff is accustomed to doing it. She enjoys learning new products and procedures.

Dr. Hammer’s outside interests include golfing, worldwide travelling, scuba diving and building and renovating houses.
